Dato' Dr. Ong Eng Long

YBhg. Dato Dr. Ong Eng Long obtained his B.Sc.(Hons) and Ph.D. from the University of Malaya and Queen Mary College, University of London respectively.  He has been with the rubber industry for more than 40 years.  He was the former Assistant Director of the Rubber Research Institute of Malaysia (1993-1997) in charge of the Chemistry and Technology Division, the former Deputy Director General (R & D) of the Malaysian Rubber Board (1998-2000) and the former Deputy CEO of the Malaysian Rubber Export Promotion Council (2000-2008).  Since 2008, Dato Dr. Ong has been appointed as the Technical Advisor to the CEO of Kossan Rubber Industries Bhd.  He is the immediate Past President of the Malaysian Rubber Products Manufacturers’ Association and the Institut Kimia Malaysia.  Dato Dr Ong has been active in the standards developmental work for rubber and rubber products since 1989.  He serves as the Chairman of ISO TC157 on “Non-systemic contraceptives and STI barrier prophylactics” from 2006 to2017 and the Chairman of ISO TC 45 SC4 on “Miscellaneous rubber products other than hoses from 2003 to 2017.
