Dr. Verapong Chaiperm

Dr. Verapong Chaiperm is the Governor of Industrial Estate Authority of Thailand (IEAT) since March 2012. He started his career with IEAT back in 1992, in the Engineer Construction Division and Environmental Control and Safety Division. He then joined The International Engineering Public Co., Ltd. (IEC) as Assistant Vice Present, Environmental Management Division from May 1995 to April 1998. In August 1999, Dr. Verapong returned to IEAT as Acting Director for the Environmental Control and Safety Division. He then held the position as Business Development Manager from 1998 till 2003 and subsequently being promoted as Director till Nov 2003.  Dr. Verapong has held different portfolio in IEAT, including as the Director of Strategy and Business Development Department, Director of Industrial Estate and Port Directing Department, Acting Deputy Governor of Industrial Port before being promoted as the Deputy Governor of Industrial Port in year 2008 and Deputy Governor (Corporate Strategy and Finance) in year 2011. Dr. Verapong obtained his Bachelor Engineering (Civil Engineering) from Chulalongkorn University, is also a Master Degree holder of M.S in Civil Engineering (Environmental Engineering) from University of Missouri-Rolla USA and later obtained his doctorate in Environmental Engineering (Water and Wastewater Engineering) from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT). He had also received a Doctoral Program Scholarship from the Government of Australia.
